This 13 year old patient  was developing a Class III type of malocclusion with a narrow upper jaw causing her to bite down asymmetrically to her right side. Note the  midline shift of her lower incisor teeth to the right side ( Fig. 1 ).

She was treated with conventional braces and a spring appliance attached to the upper molars to widen the upper arch. Note that the upper and lower midlines are centered and she exhibits nice facial balance.
